Some great new features and bug fixes:
- The "state" of each provider is now
shown in the Active Provider List. Before any headlines have been
fetched from a particular provider, the provider name is shown in
grey. Once headlines have been fetched, the name is shown in the
usual color for the list (usually black).
- The General Tab of the Settings Dialog now
includes a Flip Categories checkbox. If this control is checked,
then all commands which step through the set of active providers --
the Next ("<") and Previous (">") buttons,
the "<" and ">" keyboard shortcuts for
these buttons, and the timer-driven flip, will all step to the next
or
previous category at the appropriate point.
- A progress screen is now shown when starting up
and when shutting down. The same screen is also shown when exiting
from the Settings, since some lengthy processing occurs at that
time.
- The current skin is preserved even if the Skins
tab of the Settingsdialog is never visited when using the settings.
- The state of each category (active or inactive)
is now remembered when the program shuts down.
- Pressing the New button in the Providers tab of
the Settings dialog no longer causes a crash. The new provider is
placed in the General category.
- Unless "Show URL to Article in Tooltip"
is checked in the General tab of the Settings dialog, the full
article headline is shown as the article's tooltip.
- The full name of each provider and category is
now shown in a tooltip in the Active Provider and Category Lists,
respectively.
- When switching categories, if the background
fetching is for the current category only, then any pending fetches
from the previous category are now canceled. This greatly improves
responsiveness and reliability.
- Comments are now allowed in the skin.xml files.
- The "Always On Top" setting is now in
the Behavior category.
- When the visibility of the Category List is set
using the context menu, the Category List and the Active Provider
List are now properly updated.
- System colors are now used in the External
Provider Lists tab of the Settings dialog. This should provide
proper text contrast for the explanatory text to the right of the
buttons.
- The Update Interval is now properly saved for
each provider.
- Context menus now work properly in the gaps
between the buttons.
- Background updating now chooses the providers to
update more carefully, resulting in better performance and
responsiveness.
- The About Dialog and the Settings Dialog are now
always positioned such that they are fully visible.
- When the "Add Default Providers" button
in the Providers tab of the Settings Dialog is pushed, the status
line is updated throughout the procedure.
- Certain headlines with "&"
characters are now displayed properly.
- More duplicate sites are now detected and
properly handled.
- Fixed a typo in the To Do List.
